The SA Blind Sporting Council was formed in May 1996.
In May 2006 the Blind Sporting Council moved into Western Australia and now raises funds to assist our blind or vision impaired people in the west.
Our goal for the near future is to expand to the eastern states, thus providing all blind or vision impaired the same opportunity that exists currently to residents in South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
The Blind Sporting Council is extremely honored to be a unique organisation that has underwritten blind sports in South Australia, the Northern Territory and now Western Australia. These blind sports include athletics, cricket, goalball, golf, swimming, indoor bowls, judo, powerlifting, lawn bowls, sailing, swish, tandem cycling and tenpin bowling.
The Blind Sporting Council currently strives to support those sporting persons, not only at the international level, but also on a national and local level, helping everyone in search of their own sporting pursuits. The Blind Sporting Council is striving to support over 6,500 legally blind people in South Australia, 1,500 in the Northern Territory and 9,000 in Western Australia.
