Red Cross Phone Call Prevents Tragedy
07-April-06 09:26 - Dave Perry
Mary Amos could have lain unconscious in her Gilberton home for days, if it was not for Red Cross.

A missed telecross daily reassurance telephone call meant the 83-year-old's son was able to rush to her aid, following a severe stroke. Mary, a dedicated Australian Red Cross volunteer, died six weeks later, well cared for in a nursing home.

In South Australia 445 Red Cross Telecross volunteers made over 181,215 calls in 2005. To learn more about Telecross call Australian Red Cross 1800 246 850
